 Educational Outreach
The following list encapsulates some of the educational outreach
activities sponsored by Pax Educare:
- Resource and
lending library of 600 books, videos, journals,
tapes and CDs devoted to peace and justice. See resource
page for a more complete listing.
- Enabling educators interested in teaching
peace to network and connect.
- Workshops suitable
for youth and adults in nonviolence and conflict transformation.
We offer workshops in HIPP
(Help Increase
the Peace), in collaboration with the American Friends
Service Committee (see HIPP
website for more information).
HIPP is
adaptable to many different groups. See our calendar
page for upcoming trainings and workshops.
- Sponsorship and co-sponsorship of
educational
and artistic events that highlight, promote
and enhance skills and processes to build peace.

- Workshops and community and educational dialogues on
a variety of timely topics with particular emphasis on the skills and
philosophy of nonviolence and building Cultures of Peace.
- Publication of
a twice yearly newsletter, rich with
resources and connections in peace education,
peace research and
peace studies
- Director Mary Lee Morrison is an auxiliary
board member of the New England Peace Studies Association.
Pax Educare collaborates with NEPSA to network and engage
area educators, secondary through college in the promotion
and support of peace studies

- Membership in the Peace
and Justice Studies Association.
- Consultation on resource
materials and curricula.
- Promotion of various peace curricula,
including Making Peace Where I Live (MAPWIL), peace education
project using oral history to teach peacemaking skills.

- Dr. Morrison teaches at

- Pax Educare is a member of the West
Hartford Girls and Violence Network-a community based
group of organizations and individuals with a mission of
moving forward education and advocacy.
