Activities
Educational Outreach
The following list encapsulates some of the educational outreach
activities sponsored by Pax Educare:
- Publication of a twice
yearly newsletter, rich with resources and connections
in peace education, peace research and peace studies
- Enabling
educators interested in teaching
peace to network and connect.
- Workshops suitable
for youth and adults in nonviolence and conflict transformation.
We offer workshops in HIPP
(Help Increase
the Peace), in collaboration with the American Friends
Service Committee (see HIPP
website for more information).
HIPP is
adaptable to many different groups. See our calendar
page for upcoming trainings and workshops.
 |
- Workshops and community and educational dialogues workshops
and speaking engagements and educational dialogues on a variety of
topics, with particular emphasis on the philosophy and skills of nonviolence,
sustainability, building cultures of peace, and the importance of emphasizing
the "way and how" we teach as much as the "what we teach".
|
- Consultation on resource
materials and curricula.
- Promotion of various peace curricula,
including Making Peace Where I Live (MAPWIL), peace education
project using oral history to teach peacemaking skills.
See our resource page for
links to MAPWIL and many other projects and curricula.
